Good
read! I enjoy reading this novel with a thought-provoking personal tale by the
author with more ambitious than The
Alchemist. If you’re a fast reader you can finish this book in a day because it only contains 245 pages, plus with knowledge in biblical Elijah story you can guess
the plot and storyline easily.
The
Fifth Mountain novel is about Elijah, his struggle of being a prophet under the
reign of princess Jezebel –the Phoenician princess, who orders the execution of
all the prophets who refuse to worship the pagan god Baal - that lead to Elijah
exile where he met different people and experienced falling in love with a
young widow. He experienced trials God gave him that lead to confusion with his
faith and hating himself for being a prophet which gave him a hard time to
live.
Paulo Coelho's brilliant for giving Elijah a more focused story with a mixture of the holy scriptures and fiction. He gave Elijah a love life where he was confused and denying at first that made the plot more interesting. The book is information loaded of some facts from the bible, it is also a good eye-opener for those who are having a struggle with their faith with the Lord and bring a very meaningful message on why people experience challenges in life, oftentimes it's Him who we blame, but did we ever wonder why is it happening? Why God let such things happen to us? Why we always felt at the last under His Grace? Well, read the book to understand what I actually meant. Coelho gives a quietly moving account of a man touched by the hand of God who must triumph over his frustrations in a soul-shattering trial of faith.

woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou [art] a man of God, [and]
that the word of the LORD in thy mouth [is] truth.
Kings-1

And it
came to pass [after] many days, that the word of the LORD came to Elijah in the

troubleth Israel?

dress [it] first; for ye [are] many; and call on the name of your gods, but put
no fire [under].
Kings-1
18:27
And it
came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he [is]

peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
